
The Selangor fire and rescue department (JBPM) said it received an emergency call at 3.34am from the residents of Kampung Sungai Merab Luar.
A team from the Dengkil fire and rescue station was dispatched to the area.
“The team found that floodwaters had risen to around 1.2m, impacting 12 homes,” Selangor JBPM assistant director (operations) Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said in a statement.
Mukhlis said that water levels were gradually receding, with fire and rescue personnel monitoring the area to ensure the residents’ safety.
Separately, a house in Kampung Orang Asli, Batu 12, Gombak, was hit by a landslide early this morning.
Selangor JBPM director Wan Razali Wan Ismail said no casualties were reported. - FMT
