BINTULU, April 13 — A fire broke out in the early hours of Sunday, engulfing six single-storey terrace houses at Lorong B5 in RPR Sebiew and affecting 67 residents.

Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Bintulu zone chief Wan Kamarudin Wan Ahmad confirmed that no injuries were reported during the incident.

Wan Kamarudin said the distress call was received at 12.26am and firefighters from the Bintulu and Kidurong fire stations were dispatched to the scene.

“Three of the houses were completely destroyed, another sustained 70 per cent damage, and the remaining two suffered 30 per cent damage, mainly to ceilings and walls,” he said, adding that three vehicles were also completely burnt.

Wan Kamarudin said the fire was successfully brought under control by 1.33am, and overhaul operations were conducted to ensure the fire was completely extinguished. — The Borneo Post
