PETALING JAYA:
National unity minister Aaron Ago Dagang has called for stern legal action to be taken in the case of a food delivery rider who allegedly sent insulting and racist messages to a customer.

Aaron said such behaviour was unacceptable as it threatened racial harmony and went against Malaysian society’s values of courtesy and decency, Bernama reported.

“I urge the delivery company to take stern action against the individual involved and to tighten their employees’ code of conduct,” he said.

He also urged Malaysians to continue fostering respect and understanding towards one another.

“I believe this incident was the act of an individual and does not reflect on society as a whole, but we all share the responsibility of building a more inclusive, peaceful and united nation.

“There is no place in this country for any form of discrimination, hatred or racism.”

A teacher in Penang reportedly filed a police report over the offensive messages from the rider. - FMT
