PETALING JAYA: 

National shuttlers Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik ended their title drought by defeating a Chinese pair on their home ground in the men’s doubles final of the Badminton Asia Championships.

The Malaysian world No 6 silenced the noisy home crowd with their aggressive play, defeating the 16th ranked Chen Boyang-Liu Yi 21-19, 21-17 in a pulsating final which lasted 46 minutes in Ningbo, China.

Aaron-Wooi Yik have shown devastating form in this championship after suffering early exits in all tournaments this year. Their last title was the Korea Masters last November. - FMT
