WHAT are the benefits of renting a car? One of the most obvious benefits is the freedom and flexibility it provides.
Unlike public transportation or ride-sharing apps, a rental car gives you the ability to move on your own schedule, take detours, explore lesser-known destinations, and manage your day without relying on external factors.
But for some ugly people, driving a rented car also comes with the perk of not having to care for it.
Take for example a lady who went viral recently for standing atop the roof of a rented Perodua Bezza in Langkawi to shoot some photos of her family.
Supposedly, it was to provide her with a vantage point to get a better shot. But really? Just because it is a rental car does not mean people don’t have to give some thought into caring for it.
The brief video did not provide much details about the offender but the topic took a turn into racism, where a good majority of netizens said she was Arab, and that Arabs were prone to bad behaviour.
“The taste of the Middle East is like that. I’ve worked there,” said @MichaelLwk while he wondered if this was an advertisement for the Perodua Bezza.
Another netizen sarcastically added that they would flash their disabled individual card when apprehended to avoid repercussion.
Perhaps the winning comment goes to @asndhmzmel who said, “Are you so poor that you cannot buy a tripod, sister?”
Also, @wanahmadhamidi pointed out that the steel chassis of a Bezza was soft like a velvet cloth. This is a disaster waiting to happen.
There is no end to the sarcasm in the comment section:
“Think before you act! If you break the glass, who will pay? Use your brains, not your knees!” warned a very exasperated @huda_thegreat.
On our part, we would like to point out the very obvious point that damages caused to a rented car is usually liable for compensation.
Also, welcome to Malaysia. We hope she gets all those lovely vacation photos of her family, but at ground level. — Focus Malaysia
