He named the Chief Justice, Inspector General of Police, Election Commission and Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) as national bodies which will come under Parliament, noting that it would ensure the new Federal government would not repeat the same mistakes of Barisan Nasional.
“We will do an amendment to the constitution to put them under Parliament. With the current system, we are worried we will repeat the same wrongdoings by BN,” he told media activists at an iftar function hosted by PAS vice presidents on Monday (pic).
Salahuddin said the proposal formed part of the collective agreement among PAS, PKR and DAP during their joint convention last year.
Salahuddin said a PR government would also restore democractic institutions such as the media.
"If we are in Putrajaya, would you want the current system whereby UMNO and BN control the media?” he asked.
Meanwhile, PAS vice president Mahfuz Omar in his speech thanked the alternative press for their assistance in helping PAS to explain its stance on current issues to the public. - Harakahdaily
