Rosmah Mansor In The Media

Hi Folks. This is already a touchy subject. Datin Rosmah Mansor in the media. Many of you will be already thinking of many things to say. It has become almost Pavlovian by now. Mention Rosmah Mansor and the hackles go up (hackles = bulu roma belakang tengkok).

We cannot deny that the PM's wife does appear very frequently in the media. More often than perhaps any of the other Prime Minister's wives in the past, with the exception of maybe one former PM's former wife.

So I did an experiment of sorts. I did a tracking of Datin Rosmah Mansor's pictures as they appeared in The Star newsapaper over the past two weeks. I also took one from The Star's archives dated February 2011. I noticed a very common thread in almost all the pictures of Datin Rosmah Mansor. You will see it immediately.

Folks this is an "experiment" ok. We have to be objective and we must also be fair. Here are some of the pictures. And remember, a picture is worth a thousand words.

This first picture here is from The Star dated 1 December 2011. Rosmah is with Amir Adrian the eight year old boy who is trying out for the Vienna Boys Choir. Good luck to Amir. If he gets selected to the Vienna Boys Choir, it will be a great achievement. Please note Rosmah - she is surrounded by children.

This next one is from one day earlier ie 30th November 2011. Rosmah is engaging with the kids from the Girl Guides. This is not part of the Pintar program - it is a regular Girl Guides program where Rosmah is the Patron. You can see Rosmah is engaging with the children again - something she seems to enjoy doing.

This next picture is just another two days earlier, from The Star of 28 November 2011. Rosmah is attending a program for special children. I think special here does not mean pintar. Its a program for the children who are challenged in some ways ('challenged' is a polite way of saying handicapped). There are no kids in this picture but this was a 'special kids' event. Again Rosmah is engrossed with children's issues.

I went into the archives and got this picture from The Star dated 27 February 2011 - 10 months ago. Again Rosmah is with children who are Girl Guides. Again she is engaging with them and they also seem to be reacting very well to her. Its always children.

This last picture is from The Star dated December 11, 2011 (yesterday). Rosmah is with children at a smart kids Expo.

So maybe you can all do your own tracking of Rosmah too in the media. Do your own "Rosmah Watch" as she appears in the Press. I think Datin Rosmah Mansor has found her niche - it is children. She does seem to spend plenty of time with children.

It is a tad bit difficult to fault someone for spending time with children. Imagine yourself saying this to your neighbour - 'That Rosmah woman ah, she is terrible lah. Everyday in the newspapers they must put her picture, showing her standing with the handicapped children, the intelligent children, the Girl Guides children, the anak yatim children. Everyday she must appear with the children. Aiyyo, she is very bad lah".
