Ummi threatens to reveal ‘more secrets’

The star witness of Anwar Ibrahim's first sodomy trial has accused PKR leaders of undermining national security.

KUALA LUMPUR: PKR deputy president Azmin Ali’s sister, Ummi Hafilda, wants him to call off the ’901 Free Anwar’ rally or face the disclosure of ‘more’ Azmin-Anwar Ibrahim ‘secrets’ in the 13th general election.

Umni Hafilda incidentally was the star witness in Anwar’s first sodomy trial in 1998.

Jan 9 is the day that the Kuala Lumpur High Court delivers its verdict on Anwar’s Sodomy II trial. If convicted, the opposition leader could be imprisoned for up to 20 years.

Speculations are rife that Anwar, a former deputy prime minister and the PRK de facto leader, would be convicted of the charge. Anwar was charged with sodomising his male aide, Saiful Bukhari Azlan in 2008.

Azmin had reportedly said that PKR would galvanise 100,000 people to be at the court on Jan 9 in a show of support for Anwar.

Speaking at a press conference today, Ummi dismissed Azmin’s capacity to gather 100,000 supporters.
She instead accused Azmin, Anwar and PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail of attempting to undermine national security.

“Azmin likes to dream a lot. He even told our family that he will be Selangor menteri besar after 2008 general election but nothing like that happened.

“I want Anwar and Azmin to stop lying to the public, and apologize for trying to jeopardise national security for their own selfish agenda.

“If they don’t apologize, I will have no choice but to reveal more of their secrets during the 13th general election,” said Ummi without divulging on details.

Umni also went on to urge the public, especially the students, not to be deceived by the trio.

“I urge the people, especially the students, not to believe the trio as they are planning to create trouble in our country. I urge Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak to act against them immediately,” said Ummi.
