Investigate Porsche-driving son of Nazri

Investigate Porsche-driving son of Nazri
PKR upped the ante over the latest assault case involving the son of de-facto Law minister Nazri Abdul Aziz, in which a security guard suffered injuries after he was allegedly punched following a misunderstanding at a condominium.
However, PKR vice president N Surendran turned his attention to the fact that at the time of the incident, Mohamad Nedim Nazri Aziz (pic) had driven to the high-end condominium in a Porsche, accompanied by his bodyguard who drove a luxury MPV.
"The MACC must now investigate the sources of funds for the Porsche and luxury MPV used by Minister Nazri Aziz's son and make public their findings as a matter of public interest," said Surendran in a statement urging the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission to spring into action.
Yesterday, Nazri, while saying he should not blamed for his son's conduct, remained silent about the luxury vehicles.
The luxury vehicles caught the public attention because Nazri had prior to this came out strongly against a proposal by MACC for cabinet members to declare their wealth to the commission.
Surendran questioned how a minister on government salary could afford such a lavish lifestyle for himself and his family.
"While the public are suffering from low wages and rising prices, BN leaders and their families have accumulated enormous wealth by virtue of their government positions and political influence," he said, adding that Wanita UMNO chief Shahrizat Abdul Jalil and her family also displayed a penchant for luxury.
"The existence of this super-rich Umno-BN elite exposes the insincerity of the Prime Minister's promises of reform and change. Indeed, during these hard times for the rakyat, the PM himself has spent lavishly on his daughter's recent wedding," Surendran added, referring to the recent revelation that prime minister Najib Razak paid RM409,767 to Shangri-La hotel which provided catering services for his daughter's engagement last year.
Surendran reiterated that cabinet members led by Najib should unveil their wealth including the assets of their spouses and immediate family members.
