NOT TO BE TOO CHOOSY WITH JOBS




ADVICED......Datuk Jainab Ahmad Ayid, Minister of Resource Development and Information Technology, advised students graduating from the Technical and Commerce Training Institute (ILTP) not to be overly choosy in their search for employment.

SPEAKING to 250 trainees at an ILTP passing out ceremony held in Papar recently, Jainab said students will have trouble securing a job if they are too choosy and will not help themselves or their families.

"After the completion of your training, do not be overly selective when looking for jobs. Grab any opportunity that comes along, especially when it is related to your field of study."
"Parents should also play a role by supporting and encouraging their children to be resilient, open-minded and not too picky when searching for a job," said the Assistant Minister.

In her speech, she also talked about the crucial role that graduates have in helping the government achieve it's vision of turning Malaysia into a high-income nation by 2020.

"I have confidence that all of you will be productive and be committed incooperating with the government to achieve the Prime Minister's vision within eight years. Such a feat will not only help stimulate our nation's economic growth but also benefit the people who will then be able to enjoy better earnings and abundant job opportunities," said Jainab.

The Assistant Minister also revealed that the Papar ILTP campus will have its own administration building by early next year. The RM3 million building will be equipped with sophisticated equipment thatwill help student to learn.

In addition, an RM4 million multipurpose hall is currently under construction. The new amenity is expected to be completed by 2014.

The Human Resource Development Department has introduced an online registration system known as e-ILTP. Launched on July 1st 2011 by Deputy Chief Minister cum Resource Development and Information Technology Minister Datuk Dr Yee Moh Chai, e-ILTP is a convenient way to apply for technical and commerce skill courses available at the institution.
