‘Police wrong in Aminulrasyid’s shootout’

A lawyer urges Attorney General to re-open the case as the police did not follow the IGP's standing oder
PETALING JAYA: Corporal Jenain Subi, the police officer who was acquitted in the shooting case of 14-year-old Aminulrasyid Amzah had clearly breached the Inpector General’s standing order (IGSO), N Surendran said.
The Padang Serai MP, said that the new revelation was obtained on December 12 after police were compelled to produce the IGSO on use of firearms during the KL High Court trial of Norizan Salleh v Malaysian Gocernment.
“It is a clear breach of IGSO. Firearms can only be discharged when the lives of Police personnel or the public is threatened,”.
“14 year old Aminulrasyid did not threathen anyone’s life, he was merely tryung to get away from Police vehicles,” Surendran said.
Surendran then qurstioned the decision made by the court of appeal labeling the decision as a massive blunder as it was justifiable for police to fire at a vehicle in order to ‘immobolise it.
