SHAH ALAM - The youngest son of former inspector-general of police Tun Hanif Omar was killed today after he fell into a monsoon drain in Section 11 here.
Police said Ahmad Jamal Omar Mohd Hanif, 40, died on the spot of serious head injuries as a result of the fall opposite his friend's house in Jalan Catur 11/1C at about 3.45am.
It is learnt that Ahmad Jamal Omar had sent the friend home after an outing.
The friend, after several minutes of entering his house, noticed that Ahmad Jamal Omar's car had not left the place and went to check on him. After a brief search, he found the victim lying motionless in a 1.52m-deep drain next to his car.
