News portal Malaysiakini reported that the six were picked up by police and taken to the Wangsa Maju police station at 2pm.
They were among 50 Umno Youth members who gathered outside the DAP headquarters to protest the "Umno celaka" remark uttered by DAP's Seri Delima state assemblyman R.S.N Rayer in the Penang state assembly.
In the protest, Umno Youth members had threatened to torch the building.
The protest followed the intrusion by a group of Umno supporters into the Penang state assembly, calling for Rayer to apologise.
The DAP office in Kuantan was also attacked by several men believed to be Umno members and representatives of pro-Umno groups.
