PAS lawmaker deplores attack on nuns, says neurologist needed in Seremban

A PAS lawmaker has urged the police to speed up its investigations and nab the culprits responsible for injuring two nuns in Seremban last week.
Parit Buntar MP Datuk Dr Mujahid Yusof Rawa (pic) expressed his anger and regret at the boldness of criminals today for daring to commit crimes in places of worship.
Mujahid, who has earned a reputation for his work fostering interfaith dialogue between Muslims and Christians, told The Malaysian Insider that criminals appeared to have reached a stage where they could not differentiate between public places and religion institutions.
"Police should apprehend the culprits as soon as possible and ensure that they are given severe punishment for attempted murder," Mujahid said.
On Wednesday, two Catholic nuns were viciously attacked on the grounds of the Church of Visitation in Seremban in what is believed to be a robbery.
The incident is believed to have occurred before the 6.30am mass.
Sister Mary-Rose, 80, and Sister Juliana Lim, 68, were left bruised, bleeding and in shock following the assault, believed to have been committed with motorcycle helmets.
Lim is current warded at the Tunku Jaafar Hospital where she is in a coma. Mary-Rose was discharged on Friday.
"It does not matter who the criminals are, whether they are Malays or non-Malays. They must be given severe punishment for their irresponsible actions," Mujahid said, after visiting Lim and conversing with her family members.
"These evil people have no souls if they can behave in such a manner towards elderly senior citizens on the grounds of a place of worship," Mujahid said.
Mujahid, also visited the Church of Visitation in Seremban today where he met with Father Gregory Chan.
"I happen to have a function to attend in Seremban this afternoon and decided to visit the church," Mujahid said, adding that Chan showed him where the incident occurred.
"It is extremely unfortunate that the incident took place in front of church doors, especially as it involved senior citizens, one of whom is now fighting for her life," Mujahid said.
Meanwhile, Mujahid said he has spoken with the Health Ministry about sending a neurologist to Seremban.
"Lim's family wants to know what is happening and they want a clear and concise explanation. However, there are no neurologists here."
