PETALING JAYA - SRC International chief Nik Faisal Ariff Kamil has denied that the accounts he referred to in his letter to AmBank belonged to Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak, the Umno website MyKMU.net has reported.
The report, quoting unnamed sources, said Nik Faisal gave a statement last night to members of the special task force investigating the 1MDB scandal.
In his letter to AmBank, Nik Faisal authorised a representative to “arrange for urgent cash deposits” into three accounts at the bank.
According to MyKMU, the task force collected documents from Nik Faisal’s house.
The website said Nik Faisal was quoted as saying that the accounts referred to in the letter belonged to him and SRC International and that they had “nothing to do” with the Prime Minister or 1MDB.
MyKMU’s report appeared in the morning. In the afternoon, however, the report was removed. A note from the editors said “several parties, including a source close to Nik Faisal,” had requested that the article be retracted until the task force completes its investigations. - FMT
