New A-G should provide closure to 1MDB probe, says Muhyiddin

Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has expressed hope that the new Attorney-General Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali will continue the ongoing investigations into 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) so that Malaysians can get clear answers into the company's alleged financial improprieties.

The former deputy prime minister said it was important to give the matter proper closure.

"I hope the new A-G will continue with the huge responsibility so that people will get the answers on whether there were any wrongdoings to ensure all the perceptions regarding 1MDB can be explained and that there won't be any doubts.

"It is important to give closure to it, so whoever is the new A-G has a huge responsibility," he said at a packed news conference at his residence today.
