All Umno members should have complete faith in Umno president and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak in the wake of today's Cabinet reshuffle, said Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor (pic).

He said Umno leaders at state, division, branch and the grassroot levels should remain calm, united and enhance ties to keep the party strong.

"The Cabinet reshuffle should not be questioned as it is his (prime minister's) right to do so to face the challenges of governing the country," he said in a statement today.

Tengku Adnan, who is better known as Ku Nan, congratulated Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi who was named deputy prime minister and other members of the new Cabinet.

Zahid replaces Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as deputy prime minister.

Muhyiddin was dropped from the Cabinet line-up announced by Najib in Putrajaya today.

"I express my sincere appreciation and thanks to Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin for his leadership as the deputy prime minister."

He also thanked Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal (Rural and Regional Development Minister) and Datuk Hasan Malek (Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister) who were also dropped from the Cabinet. – Bernama
