The service was initially organised to pray for Kevin's safe return after he was reported missing on September 4.
Ipoh Sessions Court judge Tan Hooi Leng, who spoke at the service, said she had initially thought of holding a prayer session for Kevin, her former colleague as a deputy registrar in Ipoh High Court between 1997 and 2002.
"The prayer session was confirmed on Tuesday afternoon as he was still missing at the time. Then on Wednesday, reports surfaced that his body had been found.
"I considered cancelling the session but realised that the body found was not confirmed to be Kevin's until the forensics report is released and this will take time.
"The thought of Kevin lost, afraid, traumatised and crying somewhere spurred me to continue with this prayer after informing his family members in courtesy."
