Keep hands off rakyat's money, Rafizi tells Najib and wife

CONGRESS PKR secretary-general Rafizi Ramli today rationalised how he will not be disturbing both Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and his wife Rosmah Mansor if they do not take the rakyat’s money.
The Pandan MP pointed out how he did not disturb former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad, former deputy premier Muhyiddin Yassin and former Kedah menteri besar Mukhriz Mahathir.
Rafizi said this at the People's Congree to call for Najib's resignation at Shah Alam today, despite Najib has consistently denying that abusing public funds.
The PM was also cleared of wrongdoing by the attorney-general, who said Najib returned RM2.03 billion of the RM2.6 billion political donation made by a Saudi royal family member.
On this, Rafizi said he “fell in love” with the premier upon learning that Najib had done so.
“My wife and I said how if we had a daughter, we would have asked for his hand in marriage.
“No one is as noble as him - someone donated to him and he returned it back," he said.
Meanwhile, Rafizi lamented how it has become the official answer for ministers to say they don’t know about everything.
He cited the RM100 million graft case involving an official from the Youth and Sports Ministry, where both current minister Khairy Jamaluddin and former minister Shabery Cheek said they were not in the know on the matter.
“I thought Pak Lah (former premier Abdullah Ahmad Badawi) was the one who was always asleep, it turns out the disease was caught by (son) in-law as well,” he said.
Commenting further on today’s event, Rafizi said they cannot ensure that Najib will resign with just one gathering.
Therefore, to ensure that the country’s number one problem be removed, Rafizi urged everyone to gather every week until Najib is removed from the prime ministership.
“God willing, if we go down and gather, asking him to resign, we will get a new prime minister.
“I ask that whoever becomes the new prime minister, please appoint me to be the investigator in the RM2.6 billion issue because I want to find the donor; I only want to ask the donor for RM26 million, and I won’t return it,” he said, to laughter from the crowd.
Najib has continuously denied any wrongdoing and was cleared by attorney-general Mohamed Apandi Ali, who declined to prosecute on investigation papers sent by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) concerning the RM2.6 billion political donation and RM42 million from SRC International transferred into Najib’s personal bank accounts. -Mkini
