Up to Guan Eng whether to take leave or not, says KJ

It is up to Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng to decide whether to take leave pending an investigation on him by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), said Umno youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin.
“That's up to him. I think the call has been made by many, many quarters.
“It is really up to him since he is being investigated by the MACC,” said Khairy, who himself is facing calls for his resignation over a separate corruption scandal in the Youth and Sports Ministry.
Khairy said this when asked by reporters in Kuala Lumpur, after attending an awareness program on dyslexia.
Lim had been accused of purchasing a bungalow on Jalan Pinhorn, Penang, below market price.
This is purported to be a kickback for the sale of state land – also allegedly below market value - in Taman Manggis, prompting calls for Lim to take leave while investigations are being conducted.
Lim has said that the state land sale was done by a committee via open tender and that he was not involved in the process.
Meanwhile, a Youth and Sports Ministry officer was arrested by the MACC on March 17 for purportedly masterminding the misappropriation of RM107 million in state funds.
Khairy himself has not been implicated in the scandal, but had faced calls for resignation over the matter.
He has declined to do so, pledging instead to assist MACC in ensuring a transparent investigation and improving checks and balances within the ministry. -Mkini
