Terengganu Rock & Roll - Media Blackout

I received this over the weekend.  

Terengganu has been in crisis mode since Friday. 

The Sultan has stripped the MB of all his titles. 

Here be the news:
 

Terengganu dalam krisis, Istana tarik balik semua gelaran MB

Ahmad Razif tidak mempunyai sebarang gelaran kebesaran 

semuanya ditarik balik petang Jumaat kelmarin

Menteri Besar paling singkat dalam sejarah Terengganu 

dilantik menjadi MB ganti Ahmad Said Mei tahun lepas (2015).

Razif serahkan semua darjah dan bintang kebesarannya petang semalam 

dimurkai Istana ketika mengiringi Tuanku Sultan solat Jumaat

pemimpin Umno Terengganu mengesahkan berita ini

"Confirm. Cuma belum ada kenyataan rasmi dari istana sahaja

Tuanku murka dengan ucapan MB ketika solat Jumaat 

Lepas Jumaat beliau serah semua darjah kebesaran

Zahid Hamidi di Terengganu bagi menguruskan perkara ini

Zahid dilihat di lapangan terbang Kuala Terengganu

Umno punyai tiga pilihan :

1. bubarkan Dun dengan mengadakan pilihan raya semula

2. menukar MB kepada Adun yang lain

3. Umno buat kerajaan perpaduan dengan PAS di Terengganu

pilihan dikehendaki Najib bagi menstabilkan kerajaan negeri

Umno punyai 16 Adun T'gganu, PAS (14), PKR (1), Bebas (1)

8 Mac bekas MB Ahmad Said buat usul tidak percaya kepada Razif 

sumber Terengganu dakwa dua lagi Adun Umno akan menyertai Ahmad Said 

Umno (BN) 14 Adun, PAS (14), Bebas (3) dan PKR (1)

Jika Ahmad Said bergabung dengan pembangkang Terengganu akan jatuh

Hadi Awang meminta PAS tidak campur tangan atau memihak dalam isu ini

besar kemungkinan PAS bersama Umno membentuk kerajaan perpaduan 
    
My comments : 

With Ahmad Said voting against the MB, UMNO now only has 16 seats in the 32 seat State assembly.

The moment the State Assembly convenes UMNO cannot govern Terenganu anymore. They do not have the majority. If one or two more UMNO ADUNs walk, the UMNO gomen must fall.

Even now the UMNO gomen lacks legitimacy already. When you have only 16 seats, that is certainly NOT a majority.

To avoid embarrassment and maybe getting kicked out of office the MB wants to postpone reconvening the State assembly for the legal maximum of six months.

Talk is this crisis is also because of the old Terengganu Investment Authority whereby the government of Terengganu was the guarantor for the loans (RM3.0 billions ??) But I am not so sure if the Terengganu gomen is also liable.

But how the crisis was sparked is interesting. The MB escorted the Sultan to Friday prayers. The MB did something or said something that made the Sultan really angry.

The Sultan immediately revoked the MB's datoships and the MB was told to return the medals immediately to the Istana. Which the MB promptly did by Friday afternoon.

Zahid Hamidi rushed to Terengganu to smoothe things over.
