UK journalist barred from press meet after asking Najib if he’ll quit

A UK journalist and his cameraman were given the marching orders from the Wisma Bapa Malaysia in Kuching after asking Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak if he would resign.
Jonathan Miller from Channel 4 News had posed the question when the prime minister arrived at the venue for the swearing-in ceremony of Adenan Satem as chief minister after the Sarawak state election.
However, Najib walked past Miller without acknowledging the journalist.
Following this, Miller wanted to cover the press conference in the venue, but an unidentified individual had blocked him, saying: "This is not your country.”
Miller had then asked the policemen at the scene if he could enter, but was denied from doing so.
Quizzed by local journalists, Miller said he had asked Najib about corruption.
"The question I asked your prime minister tonight was that - he was accused of personal involvement in a huge corruption scandal.
"And he has given some answers, but I know for many Malaysian friends and journalists, the answers he has given are inadequate.
"And people want to know more details so I came here to ask him simply to respond," he said, adding that he was the correspondent for Asia.

Miller acknowledged the circumstances of the question might have been unfair as BN had just won an election.
"But this is the chance to ask him those important questions which I believe he owes to the Malaysian people a proper response," he said.
Najib has denied any wrongdoing or abusing public funds for personal gain.
He has blamed such allegations on those conspiring to topple him, whom he said are using the foreign media to achieve this objective.
Attorney-general Abdul Gani Patail has also cleared the prime minister. -Mkini
