  • will take some time
  • beginning to walk the talk now he said
My comments : The Adenan - Najib meeting must have taken place on Monday.  Here is a comment sent to me by the Jedi Warrior about this Sarawak autonomy issue.

"The trend if States in a Federation want autonomy.  Scotland and now Northern Ireland. They want autonomy but (to remain) in the European Union.

Najib promised Sarawak autonomy and picked Nancy Shukri and Anifah Aman to lead the negotiations on behalf of the Federal Government. But yesterday (Monday 4/7/2016) he appointed the AG to head the team. What happened to Nancy Shukri and Anifah Aman? This actually means Najib is not keen on autonomy and AG will do the d_rty work."

I agree. I think Adenan sudah kena main.

The fact that the AG has been appointed to lead the negotiations simply means the earlier pick of Nancy and Anifah was not serious either.  I dont think Adenan is going to get anything.

This is just a show.  This has been so typical of the Najib gomen.  They can really do the play acting. Here are some other points :

1. Remember a fellow called Waythamoorthy? To placate the Indians, they appointed Waythamoorthy as a Minister. He quit soon after.

2. To placate the public about the fight over corruption, they appointed civil leaders and such as Advisors to the MACC.  (This happened to me too - I quit after four years.)

3. To placate parents and the public over the collapsed education system, they appointed prominent educators to conduct town hall meetings with the people and  discussions with special interest groups and eminent persons (I was involved in this too).  Gave them the satisfaction of voicing their opinions. Then all their reccommendations and suggestions were just ignored.  All that time we spent was largely wasted.

This is their style. They are not serious.  So Adenan, dont say you have not been warned.  Please make sure you know how to play your cards right.

The Jedi Warrior also commented about Sabah.  The UMNO Ministers are crowing that they expected Shafie's resignation.  Really? If they are so clever why did they not predict Shafie's resignation?

How come none of them were able to expect or predict Husni Hanadzlah's resignation from ALL his posts? Or Wahid Omar's resignation from the Cabinet?  More may be on the way.

They say that Shafie's resignation will not affect UMNO. Do not be too sure.   UMNO leaders punished Shafie first and after that only they asked the Lembaga Disiplin to investigate.  This is not according to the Party's Constitution.   When UMNO leaders ignore the Party's Constitution what is there left?

Sabah's political history is different from UMNOs. Tun Mustapha who was a very powerful and influential leader was toppled. Harris Salleh, another influential warlord was also toppled.

Later UMNO used money to topple Pairin. It was the Crown Prince of Sungei Buloh who spearheaded the effort to buy elected members to change sides.  (Later he tried to topple sleeping Badawi but Badawi woke up in time.)

UMNO can face serious problems in Sabah if Shafie were to do what previous Sabah leaders have done and if Sabahans are fed up with corruption in UMNO.

If Shafie uses the 'Sabah for Sabahans' type slogans   then UMNO can face serious problems in Sabah.  Most likely Sabahans will kick out UMNO from Sabah. Sabahans have had enough of UMNO's dirty tactics and broken promises.

Remember the rotation of the Chief Minister? What happened to that? They broke that promise too.

The Pan Borneo Highway has long been allocated for already. Najib has mentioned the Pan Borneo Highway in the Budget speeches since forever. It is not a new  award.  Only the project cost is insane - berpuluh billion Ringgit.

There are also some other axes hanging over UMNO in Sabah.  The Pushtun will soon have to explain to the Court in Switzerland about all that money in his private account in the Swiss bank.    If the Swiss Court presses this issue then UMNO's days in Sabah are really numbered, even without Shafie Apdal's resignation.

Shafie does have the support of the Opposition parties in Sabah. If Shafie forms a pact in Sabah or sets up a new political party  he can swing Sabah's Parliamentary seats away from UMNO.   Losing 10 or 15 Parliamentary seats in Sabah will be fatal to UMNO.

Mukhriz and Tun Dr Mahathir can do the same thing in Kedah where the local sentiment is still in their favour.

It is most likely that UMNO will now do anything to destroy Shafie's credibility.    They may even do a 'Lim Guan Eng' on Shafie Apdal. Shafie has to be careful.
