Cement tanker’s open top snags overhanging cable, dragging down lampposts and damaging used cars on sale along road.
IPOH: Sixteen vehicles were damaged when two lampposts toppled in a freak accident involving a cement tanker in Laluan Saujana 1 near Batu Gajah early this morning.
Batu Gajah police chief ACP Mohd Nasri Omar said the incident at 1.30am occurred when the tanker was on its way from Batu Gajah to Ipoh.
“When passing by a row of shops selling used cars at the location, the tanker’s cover which was open, caught an overhead cable across the road.
“The lorry dragged the cable causing two lampposts to topple on the 16 cars,” he said when contacted here today.
He said the windscreen, roof and body of the cars on sale were damaged.-FMT
