DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang has questioned Special Affairs Department (Jasa) director-general Mohd Puad Zarkashi's intellectual capability after Jasa sent out an information blast on the Gelang Patah MP.
The information blast was titled "Lim Kit Siang and the opposition's slander debunked again; Public Service Department did not stop medical supply benefit for government pensioners".
"Malaysians cannot be faulted for wondering whether Puad’s language understanding is so dismal that he simply could not understand what DAP MPs Teresa Kok, Teo Nie Ching and myself, had been saying yesterday.
"If Puad cannot understand simple language... we cannot but wonder how he could get a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Anthropology from Universiti Malaya, a Masters in Sociology from State University of New York and a PhD from Northern California University," said Lim in a statement today.
The DAP MPs had criticised the termination of the Electronic Medical Automation Supply System (e-MASS) which had allowed pensioners to also get subsidised medication from private hospitals and pharmacies.
The PSD in a statement yesterday confirmed the termination and said pensioners should now get their subsidised medication from public hospitals.
"I invite Puad to study what we had said and challenge Puad to prove that anyone of us had ever said that the government had stopped providing medical supplies to pensioners.
"Or is Puad so immoral, evil and treacherous that he could put words into our mouth and claim that we have said things which we never said?" Lim asked.
He said if Puad had "any moral scruples left", he should apologise and stop disseminating "downright lies" about the opposition.- Mkini
