Tajuddin declares Malays have lost power, gov't controlled by non-Malays

Umno's Pasir Salak MP Tajuddin Abdul Rahman has declared Malays have lost power following the 14th general election and that the government has been replaced with one controlled by non-Malays.
"Today, we have lost power, the Malays have lost power. More than half of the government today is controlled by the non-Malays and non-Muslims.
"DAP alone has five or six positions. And they also have many more deputy ministers. Half of the government is a DAP government," he told thousands who attended the Himpunan Melayu Bangkit (Malays Arise Rally) at Pekan Kampung Gajah in Pasir Salak tonight.
Currently, 17 out of the 28 federal ministers are Malay Muslims while two more are non-Malay bumiputeras. The remaining nine ministers are non-bumiputeras.
Tajuddin claimed DAP was employing "trickery" in claiming that it accepted the federal constitution, Islam as the religion of the federation, and Malay privileges.
"They are liars! We understand what is said and the subtext," he said.
Tajuddin also led the crowd in chanting, “DAP is the enemy”.
"DAP is the enemy of Malays, the enemy of Islam... They want to set up a republic. They want the head of state to be a non-Malay and non-Muslim like it is in Singapore.
"Do we want a head of state who is non-Malay and non-Muslim to become the protector of Malays and Islam?" he said.
Singapore’s current head of state is its president Halimah Yacob, who is Malay, while its head of government is Lee Hsien Loong.
Tajuddin also claimed that Malays would be purged from the government.
"Many Malay officers were sacked even during the fasting month. Many more young Malays will be sacked from the government.
"We in the villages must realise this, and rise up to defend the fate of our children and grandchildren," he said.
Tajuddin called for unity among Malays.
"The struggle must continue, let us rise up together in the name of Malays and restore power to the Malays and Muslims," he said.
He also lashed out at other Malays who had spoken out against the racially charged rally, accusing them of being traitors.
"We are giving them a warning, do not be a traitor to your race and religion," he said.
Organisers claimed some 10,000 people attended the event.
Meanwhile, also present was Umno Youth chief Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, who vowed to organise similar events nationwide.
The event was streamed live on Facebook by Utusan Malaysia. - Mkini
