Why Pakatan Cannot Formulate New Policies

Image result for Pakatan Harapan coalition

Because they all have different ideas of what should be done and how to do it. So the Pakatan cannot agree on policy and is trying to pretend only that it has policy issues sorted out.

The DAP is 55? years old and they know exactly what policies they want to have.
And it is unlikely that the DAP wants to make any changes to what they KNOW must be done rightly.  [And I agree with them].

Amanah is actually PAS minus Hudud. They still have a PAS outlook. Khalid Samad is going around KL making sure entertainment outlets close by 1am. What I am trying to say is - please find better things, real things - for you to do instead of useless pro-PAS policies like closing entertainment outlets by 1am.  There are more important things that need to be done.

Meantime corruption in the DBKL is about the same. Just check out the Masjid India area. Not much change.  Harap jangan pula Khalid sudah kena sentuhan kecundang.

What is happening in the Ministry of Health? Dr Dzul? The hospitals are becoming quite seriously bad. Everyone is complaining.  The issue is not just the money supply has dried up.  It is more than that. The quality of hospital management has gone down significantly.

If you do not see the need to make any changes in the Health Ministry and the quality of health care then you have already failed. There are a million changes to be made in our Health Ministry and health care.  So please do not say that there are no changes to be made.

In the private sector there are FAR TOO MANY rules and regulations that make private medical care too costly. That is the bottom line : the costs go up. Private medical care becomes very expensive for the people.

These rules and regulations are designed to protect the interests of the large private medical care corporations.  The small hospitals, clinics, medical centres etc face serious cost hikes because of far too many often unnecessary regulations.

[private medical practitioners / hospitals please feel free to comment].

So Dr Dzul the Health Minister chose the easy option and banned cigarette smoking in restaurants and all public places. Ok. Big deal.  Another pro-PAS type policy. But is that all?

Putting doctors on 36 hour shifts [on call] has long endangered the lives of patients and doctors.  There are cases of on call doctors falling down unconscious while working, on call doctors falling asleep while driving home and having accidents, falling asleep by the roadside etc. Imagine the fate of a patient who is being treated by a doctor who is at the end of his or her 36 hour shift?  Nasib engkau.

In the UK, their NHS has set doctors' working hours :
  • Max 48 hr work week (reduced from 56)
  • Max 72 hours’ work in any seven day period (reduced from 91).
  • Max shift length 13 hours (reduced from 14 hours).
  • Max of five consecutive long (>10 hours) shifts

Malaysia now has an oversupply of doctors.  So space them out. There is no need for these 36 hour shifts.  [Dr Dzul - think of it this way, it could be another Zionist conspiracy to keep us stupid].

PKR has never been much of a political movement. Parti Keluarga dan Rakan. When the Anwar - Azmin split happened I thought there was a possibility that PKR would at last grow up and develop its own maturity and sense of purpose under Azmin Ali's leadership.

But unfortunately Azmin got appointed the Minister of Economic Affairs.  And he has not done much or not done anything substantial yet. It is Lim Guan Eng who keeps announcing the changes in the computation of fuel prices [weekly].

Yet Azmin has the most powerful portfolio in the entire Cabinet - apart from the PM himself.  That is the  PKR.

Finally PPBM is simply put UMNO minus Najib and Zahid. That is all. Lain semua lebih kurang sama lah.

The distribution of seats is also not conducive to drastic policy change. I believe Tun Dr Mahathir wants to make more drastic policy changes but only with more of his own team in place. This means those 30 UMNO   MPs who need to crossover from UMNO to Bersatu - via a period of cooling off as independents.

This cooling off as independents is not a properly defined entity at all.
TokPa [Dato Mustapa Mohamed] was almost instantly accepted into Bersatu.
There was very little cooling off period for TokPa.

Talk is Hishamuddin Hussein Onn wants to join Bersatu directly - with no need to become an independent at all.

However there may be a Magnitude Eight earthquake on the horizon soon that may resolve all these issues.

What is this earthquake? The UMNO party has stopped functioning.  UMNO people say thousands of their  20,000 or so cawangan do not meet, do not receive instructions from HQ, do not receive funds, have not conducted mandatory meetings, drawn up accounts etc.  They are in breach of multiple ROS rules.  UMNO will be deregistered. It will cease to exist. In such event all the UMNO MPs will become Ronin - ninjas without a Master.

Thats when things will become easier for Tun Dr Mahathir.

Or things could get worse.

Meanwhile it is evening now.

Today the talk is the sun is setting on yet another person.

It is what we leave behind and how history will remember us and judge us.

To be praised by history and not to be condemned by it.
