PETALING JAYA: The finance ministry today announced that 350,000 new Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) accounts would be created under the names of the wives of Cost of Living Aid (BSH) applicants.
This follows issues which arose from applicants filling in the bank account numbers of their husbands in the space provided for their own account numbers.
“As the ministry announced on May 31 regarding the second payment of BSH 2019, of the 3.6 million households approved, some 300,000 recipients could not receive their payments, mainly because the bank account number registered was inaccurate.
“For those whose payments could not be credited, we hereby inform that BSN has created close to 350,000 new bank accounts beginning yesterday, under the wives’ names,” the ministry said in a statement.
Recipients can now present themselves at any BSN branch to activate the account and commence withdrawals.
