Ex-Malacca PKR division women's chief joins Umno

A former Malacca PKR's division women's chief has joined Umno.

Rohani Mahmud, who was Tangga Batu PKR division women's chief, made the announcement via a Facebook posting today.

"Let us struggle sincerely from our hearts because everything we do is seen and judged by the public. Don't politick with favouritism. Don't look for people only when you need them. Don't politick with sweet promises," she said.

The post was accompanied with pictures of her her filling up an Umno membership form accompanied by several Tangga Batu Umno women.

Tangga Batu PKR chief Qui Teck said Rohani had quit as the division's women's chief on Jan 26 and the state leadership was informed of this in February.

Meanwhile, Kota Melaka PKR chief Ridduan Amin said the division's women chief Lilla Madon was said to be considering letting go of her position due to health reasons.

"She is a teacher. I was told that she wants to resign due to medical reasons," he said.

However, a source from PKR's headquarters told Malaysiakini the resignations were due to unhappiness with the Malacca PKR leadership.

"This is an old issue in Malacca. Many are unhappy with the new state leadership. So today, we can see that some people are leaving because their voices were not heard," the source said. - Mkini
