PETALING JAYA: Highway concessionaire PLUS Malaysia today named Mohamad Nasir Ab Latif as its chairman, replacing Mohd Sheriff Kassim who has opted to retire.
Nasir, a former deputy CEO of the Employees Provident Fund (EPF), has been part of PLUS Malaysia’s board of directors since 2013.
He is also a board member of Sime Darby Plantation Bhd, Malaysian Resources Corporation Bhd, Yinson Holdings Bhd, BBCC Development Sdn Bhd, Yarra Park City Pty Ltd, PNB-Kwasa International Holding Ltd, PNB-Kwasa International 1 Ltd and PNB-Kwasa International 2 Ltd.
Nasir has a bachelor’s degree in Social Science (Economics) from Universiti Sains Malaysia, and a diploma in Accounting and Finance from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in 1996. He also holds a Master of Science in Investment Analysis from the University of Stirling, United Kingdom (1999).
Meanwhile, PLUS paid tribute to its former chairman Sheriff, describing him “a charismatic leader in every sense of the word”.
“Throughout the period, Tan Sri Sheriff has successfully led and driven the PLUS group to become a high-performing organisation and remains as the best in class highway concessionaire nationally and internationally,” said managing director Azman Ismail. - FMT
