Bukit Aman makes it easier to pay summonses via inhouse mobile app, website

KUALA LUMPUR: Bukit Aman has developed a dedicated mobile phone application and website to pay summonses online.

The service, which is in its final stages before being rolled out to the public, is expected to make the payment of summonses easier instead of queuing up at counters.

Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department director Deputy Comm Datuk Azisman Alias said they began developing the app and website last year.

"This is a completely in-house initiative which means we will not have to pay service providers commission or any fees for the service.

"We are now testing it to ensure no hiccups occur when we roll it out," he told reporters at Bukit Aman on Wednesday (Jan 26).

He said they hoped the service would go online in one to two months.

"If we could get it operational by Police Day it would be great.

"We have yet to name the service. Maybe we could call it "My Cepat Bayar," he quipped, adding that they would come up with a few suggestions for names for the Inspector-General of Police's approval.

Meanwhile, on another note DCP Azisman said last year a total of 5,263,606 summonses were issued compared to 5,016,187 in 2019.

"We also collected RM395mil from summonses last year compared to RM305mil the previous year," he said, adding that last year some 1,102,997 summonses were settled compared to 947,177 summonses in 2019. - Star
