Deputy Communications and Multimedia Minister Zahidi Zainul Abidin has tested positive for Covid-19.
In a statement, his office today said Zahidi was tested upon arriving in Kuala Lumpur from Penang on Jan 11. His previous test on Dec 25, 2020, returned negative.
Zahidi is currently undergoing treatment at the Sungai Buloh Hospital.
"Zahidi is currently in a stable condition and has apologised for any inconveniences caused," said his office.
Zahidi, 60, is the Padang Besar MP and is the latest key government figure tested positive for Covid-19.
Yesterday, the Health Ministry confirmed that Home Minister Hamzah Zainuddin, Economic Affairs Minister Mustapa Mohamed and Women, Family, and Community Development Minister Rina Harun are also Covid-19 positive. - Mkini
