Four nabbed in Pasir Mas for possessing cough mixture, ketum juice

KOTA BARU: Four men were detained on possession of 87 pills, 61 packages of ketum juice and eight bottles of cough mixture in Pasir Mas, last night.

The four, aged between 23 and 25, were resting in a house when they were arrested by members of the General Operations Force (GOF).

GOF Seventh battalion commanding officer Superintendent Azhari Nusi said a team of GOF members raided a house in the village following tip-offs.

"After raiding the house at about 9pm, the team saw four men inside the premises and after conducting checks, they found the pills, cough mixture believed to contain codeine and ketum juice worth about RM2,000.

"More than RM300 cash was also found on one of the suspects," he said in a statement.

Azhari said initial investigations showed that the drugs, cough mixture and ketum juice were obtained from a local drug supplier known as 'Mat'.

"Earlier investigations also revealed that the pills and ketum juice would be sold to addicts in the Pasir Mas areas," he added.

Azhari said one of the four suspects tested positive for drugs.

He added the four, all locals, are being held for further investigations. - NST
