Man with Covid-19 attempts suicide in Sentul

 


A 57-year-old man who is believed to have contracted Covid-19 attempted suicide by jumping off the 11th floor of a flat at Bandar Baru Sentul on Saturday.

However, the man survived with critical body injuries including on his head, lung, and stomach. He also broke his hands and legs from the fall.

According to Sentul police chief Beh Eng Lai, the police were alerted to the incident by the public at around 4.30pm.

The police found a note near the man stating his confession that he has Covid-19.

"The victim is now being treated at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital and is in a coma," Beh said in a statement today. 

The case has been classified under Section 309 of the Penal Code for attempted suicide.

Beh reminded the public to not do something which can be harmful to oneself.
