PETALING JAYA: The Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah has shared a videoclip of her playing the violin with Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali.
In the short video posted on Instagram on Sunday (Jan 10), the Queen admitted that it was her first time playing the musical instrument.
"This is the first time I played the violin. Tomorrow I am going to buy a violin and learn from Tun Hasmah," she quipped.
In the video, the Queen was also seen asking the wife of former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad whether she plays the violin well as Dr Siti Hasmah cheered and clapped.
In the video, Tunku Azizah explained that she was playing golf at The Mines in Seri Kembangan when she decided to make a surprise visit to Dr Siti Hasmah.
In a second video, Tunku Azizah expressed her intention to take lessons from Dr Siti Hasmah so that they could perform together.
The cute posting has garnered many positive comments from Malaysians, who were touched and entertained by the interactions between the Queen and Dr Siti Hasmah.
Known for her musical talent, Dr Siti Hasmah plays the violin as well as the piano and has performed with songstress Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza.
