With more BN MPs expected to withdraw support for Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and Perikatan Nasional (PN), Upko president Wilfred Madius Tangau has invited some of them who have no ongoing court cases to join Pakatan Harapan Plus.
Upko was formerly a BN component but since the last Sabah state election, had allied itself with Warisan as part of Harapan Plus, alongside PKR, DAP and Amanah.
"To my parliamentary colleagues Ahmad Jazlan, Nazri Aziz, Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah (photo above) and other old friends in BN who are abandoning Muhyiddin not because they have ongoing court cases, I urge you to join us in Harapan Plus to discuss alternative policies for post-Muhyiddin and post-PN Malaysia," said the Tuaran MP in a statement.
He said MPs have a duty to offer workable and broad-based policies for millions of Malaysians suffering from Muhyiddin's move "to save his job" with the declaration of emergency.
"I sincerely plead with Anwar Ibrahim (PKR president) and my wise friends in BN to work out alternative policies to save the economy from Muhyiddin's emergency.
"Malaysians deserve some hope as dark clouds gather on our sky," he said.
Padang Rengas MP Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz yesterday became the third Umno MP to withdraw support for Muhyiddin, effectively leaving PN as a minority government with only 109 MPs in Parliament.
The Umno Padang Rengas chief also hinted that several other Umno MPs are expected to announce a similar move soon. - Mkini
