I told you so. Repeat : I told you so.
So now at last everyone can see that Brader Anwar has reached the end of his shelf life. Well how wrong you are again. He never had any "shelf life" in the first place. The brader has always been more than one egg short of a dozen. Anyway here is the DAP guy throwing some mud at the brader.
Bilut assemblyperson Lee Chin Chen had refused to retract his remarks calling for PKR president Anwar Ibrahim's resignation as opposition leader, according to Pahang PKR chief Fuziah Salleh.
Fuziah said this is after Lee had ignored a 24-hour notice issued by Pahang PKR over his call made following Pakatan Harapan's loss in the recently concluded Malacca state polls.
"We gave 24-hour notice for YB Bilut to retract his remarks. But he refused," Fuziah told Malaysiakini.
My Comments :
There is a video from Kini TV somewhere here : https://dai.ly/x85rtuw
It looks like Fuziah Salleh is equally naive as well. More than 24 hours have gone by. Lee Chin Chen has refused to withdraw his remarks. Ok so what is PKR going to do? You cannot do anything. Even the DAP has not said anything about Lee Chin Chen.
Why? Because you have just been shut out of Melaka. The PKR lost in ALL THE SEATS they contested in Melaka.
I told the DAP many moons ago. The DAP needs a good Malay candidate to be their PM candidate. Brader Anwar is not that candidate. The DAP was wasting precious time and resources clinging on to the Brader as their prime minister candidate.
Only now you realise that he is a liability.
No one likes the fact that Brader Anwar was willing to accept those frogs that jumped in Melaka. But isnt that the character of the fellow?
Many people also do not like that MoU you signed with Umno. (I do not disagree with that MoU because in the interests of 'building trust' between the DAP and UMNO that MoU played a critical role. Maybe the DAP and UMNO can work even closer in the future. It should have a calming influence on the beasts of all nations. Its just a play on the 2015 movie 'Beasts of no Nation'. Do chill ok. )
Talk is even Rafizi Ramli has split from Brader Anwar. I believe Rafizi Ramli has far more credibility with the voters. It would be a better option for the DAP to talk to Rafizi Ramli as their candidate for Prime Minister. Get Rafizi to join the DAP. Sit down and talk. Everything can be discussed.
The DAP is yet at another crossroads in its history. In 1998 the DAP read the tea leaves correctly. At that time there was a strong anti-establishment feeling, sparked by Umno kicking out Brader Anwar. The DAP cleverly placed its bets on Brader Anwar and rode the Reformasi bandwagon from 1998 until 2018.
The DAP cleverly exploited Brader Anwar to help break UMNO's political dominance of over 62 years. I say 'help' because UMNO actually killed themselves. The 1MDB scandal was the final nail in the coffin.
But that streak of good luck has finally ended in Melaka. Your good fortune actually ended when the PH came to power with Dr Mahathir as Prime Minister in 2018. Under Dr Mahathir the PH lost SEVEN BY ELECTIONS in a row. Then Dr Mahathir was kicked out.
Now this Melaka State Polls was actually the EIGHTH round of BY ELECTIONS where the PH has lost. I see the DAP / PKR / Amanah and even Bersatu's drubbing in Melaka as a continuation of the very last Tanjong Piai by election on 16 November 2019 - almost exactly 24 months ago. The PH almost lost your deposit in Tanjong Piai.
The DAP went from eight seats down to just four seats in the Melaka State Assembly. Mr Lim Kit Siang says that if they could have another week of campaigning the voter turnout could have been say 10% more and the DAP would have won more seats. But Mr Lim, what happened was that the voter turnout was actually supposed to be 99% in Melaka. But because the people were fed up of Brader Anwar, the PH accepting those lompat katak frogs the turnout went down to 66%. (This is another way of looking at things).
Plus with all the MoUs signed with BN and UMNO, the Melaka voters possibly felt that since BN and PH are so buddy-buddy now, why not vote for the BN and UMNO anyway. So UMNO won big.
But you better re-calibrate your plans for the next General Elections. The news coming out of Penang is that the DAP is also losing popularity in Penang. Too many "big projects" crowding the discussion in Penang. So be careful in Penang.
Brader Anwar is certainly not an asset anymore. The pressure for Brader Anwar to resign as leader of the Opposition is going to increase.
