MALACCA POLLS | Perikatan Nasional has finally unveiled its manifesto for the Malacca polls today, joining BN and Pakatan Harapan that both released their campaign promises earlier on Wednesday (Nov 10).
PN's manifesto contained more general approaches rather than specific policy items compared to their rivals.
However, there were some specific promises on cash handouts.
This includes a one-off RM200 payment to teachers of religious schools and kindergartens under the Malacca Islamic Religious Department's jurisdiction.
PN chairperson Muhyiddin Yassin - who unveiled the manifesto in a virtual event due to strict restrictions against physical campaigning due to Covid-19 - also promised a one-off RM200 payment for all newborns in Malacca for 2021.
The event was aired from Shah Alam in Selangor.
Other more detailed campaign promises include postponement of loan repayments under the Tabung Amanah Pendidikan Negeri Melaka, a 50 percent discount on hawker licences, as well as a 50 percent rental discount for small traders.
Campaigning for the Malacca polls began on Nov 8. Voters will decide on Nov 20.
A total of 28 seats are up for grabs. PN, BN and Harapan are clashing in all of them.
A minimum of 15 will be required to form the government.
PN's complete manifesto, as well as their rivals BN and Harapan, are available as follows:
