COVID-19 | The Health Ministry said 12,380 new daily Covid-19 cases were reported yesterday, bringing the total cumulative cases to 4,246,467.
Active cases stood at 192,948, down 26.8 percent compared to 14 days ago.
New infections according to states are as follows:

Over the past week, an average of 44.4 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 66.5, indicating that Covid-19 deaths were on the downtrend.
Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 35,099 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.
There have been 116 such deaths reported this month. For comparison, there were 2,235 deaths in March, 770 deaths in February and 491 deaths in January.
Malaysia has the highest number of deaths per capita in the Asean and East Asian regions with 1,061 deaths per 1 million population, and the fourth-worst in Asia after Iran, Lebanon and Jordan – all in the Middle East.
The states with the highest deaths were Kedah (7) and Perak (7) followed by Kelantan (3), Selangor (3), Pahang (2), Penang (2), Johor (1), Malacca (1), Negeri Sembilan (1), Sarawak (1), Terengganu (1) and Kuala Lumpur (1).
