COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 3,969 new daily Covid-19 cases yesterday.
New daily cases have been on the uptrend over the past two weeks and have now reached levels not seen since Aug 18.
Active cases currently stood at 33,018, up 28.8 percent compared to 14 days ago.
New cases according to states are as follows:
Kuala Lumpur (1,180)
Selangor (1,145)
Perak (314)
Sabah (248)
Negeri Sembilan (245)
Penang (157)
Kedah (120)
Kelantan (106)
Malacca (104)
Sarawak (81)
Pahang (79)
Johor (73)
Putrajaya (58)
Terengganu (49)
Labuan (7)
Perlis (3)
Another two deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday in Perak and Sabah.
Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,480 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.
There were 101 deaths last month and 158 deaths in September.
There are 1,497 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised, of which 63 are in intensive care.
The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (122), followed by Sabah (91) and Perak (66). - Mkini
