PKR, why take gamble by fielding Ramanan in Sungai Buloh?

From Alex Chung

The coming general election (GE15) serves as a golden opportunity for Pakatan Harapan (PH) to reclaim Putrajaya and it should ensure that it is well prepared to take on any challenges.

However, it is disheartening to see that PH chairman Anwar Ibrahim is still making some choices which, to many voters, do not seem to make sense.

DAP did the same thing by dropping some good candidates, especially Charles Santiago in Klang. Fortunately, Santiago is a gentleman, and instead of resorting to any kind of sabotage, he calmly urged his supporters to rally behind the new candidate.

This shows just how professional he is and that he has the interests of the party above himself.

This should be the main focus for all PH parties in the coming elections – to place the interests of the people and the party above all else.

As a veteran voter in Sungai Buloh, I must admit that I am distressed over PKR’s decision to drop R Sivarasa and replace him with the lesser-known R Ramanan.

The only thing we know about Ramanan is the fact that he was embroiled in a case when he was in MIC and was ordered to return a large sum of money to a prominent psychiatrist.

There were serious allegations at that time against Ramanan and he eventually resigned from MIC. He then joined PKR and apparently moved around closely with Anwar.

He is no match for Khairy Jamaluddin and PH can safely say it has already lost one seat.

As a voter, I am concerned as to how Ramanan would possibly match the service record left behind by Sivarasa.

Why is PKR taking such uncalculated gambles at a time when it stands a good chance to win as many seats as possible?

Please Anwar, put all your personal differences away and do what is best for the voters and the party.

If not Sivarasa, then give us a better candidate. - FMT
