PAS is not a "lodging house" for those who seek temporary political refuge, said party president Abdul Hadi Awang.
In a statement today, he said the party will only work with those who accepted the party's ideology and will not waver, even if lucrative offers are made.
"PAS is not a political rumah tumpangan (lodging house) for temporary stay. We cannot be kicked around like a football by others.
"We cannot be influenced by promises of positions or riches," he said.
Hadi (above) claimed that PAS has previously broken off ties with others when the basis of the cooperation required the party to forgo its Islamic principles.
"PAS will not remain stagnant when there are changes in attitudes (of our partners) or the situation.
"However, there are parties which frequently reach out to us only to later cut ties with us," said Hadi.
His statement comes amidst speculation that Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim was reaching out to PAS.
Last Friday, Anwar conveyed his wish to rekindle his relationship with Hadi, among others, when the former met Nik Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz last Friday in Kota Bharu.
Following this, DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang also urged the Anwar-administration to include PAS, on condition that Hadi stops making false allegations against DAP. - Mkini
