PETALING JAYA: The Melaka government aims to increase the number of homes under the rent-to-own (RTO) concept targeted at the low-income B40 group.
Chief minister Ab Rauf Yusoh said the Melaka Housing Board (LPM) now had 1,150 homes under the RTO scheme, Bernama reported.
This involved 1,100 People’s Housing Project (PPR) homes in Tehel and 50 Rumah Sejahtera units in Lipat Kajang.
Under this RTO concept, each recipient will have to pay a monthly rental fee of RM200 to RM300.
Earlier, Rauf attended a key handover ceremony to Rumah Sejahtera houseowners.
He said the Rumah Sejahtera project began construction in 2017.
The original contractor failed to complete it due to internal problems and a new contractor was appointed to complete the project. - FMT
