The Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Controversy Continues - Into The Madani Gomen

 Over the years I have written many times about the LCA or Light Combat Aircraft. Here is a partial list of some of my postings where I have discussed the LCA. It goes back many years - past Ismail Sabri, Tan Sri Muhyiddin, Dr M 2.0 and Najib.

 

 

The issue has cropped up again. This time the Army boys have taken up the matter. Well done. Here is a Major Mior who has somethings to say about this LCA deal.

 

 

Why buy an aircraft that is still a prototype? Why make our pilots guinea pigs?

And at what price? In Malaysia we always end up paying more for less.

 

My personal favorite (at a very affordable price) is the Chinese JF17 fighter jet (pic below). A Mach 1.6 plane with many pluses to meet our requirements. And the price tag is US40.0 million per plane or about RM180 million each. For the RM4.0 billion allocated we can get 22 JF17 planes. (If we buy it from Pakistan which also makes the plane,  the price tag could be even less - around US25 million each or RM111 million, we can get 36 planes).

Or buy Russian. The MIG 31 is a mean machine. Or the beautiful Sukhois which are proving their mettle in Ukraine now.

But what does not surprise me is that no matter which gomen is in charge whether BN, PH 1.0, PN or now PH 2.0 the same controversies still pop up.
