Former home minister Hamzah Zainudin said he will make public a letter allegedly from PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail asking him to nullify PKR’s election results last year.
The federal opposition leader told reporters in Tanjong Karang, Selangor, last night that he will reveal the letter during Perikatan Nasional’s (PN) election campaign in Kedah.
“Wait for it. I have already said that I will reveal things in series.
“I have told the people of Kedah that I will return to the state and I will show to them what he (Saifuddin) sent me,” he said.
Hamzah (above, left), who is PN’s secretary-general, spoke to reporters after the launching of the Permatang and Sungai Burong PN election machinery.
During an event in Kedah last week, Hamzah claimed Saifuddin (above, right) asked him to invalidate the results of PKR’s party elections.
This purportedly happened after Saifuddin lost to Rafizi Ramli in the contest for the PKR deputy presidency.
Saifuddin, who is the current home minister, has denied the allegation and dismissed it as a political statement by Hamzah.
The Pakatan Harapan leader said if he was trying to get the party deregistered after losing to Rafizi, he would not have replied to the two show-cause letters issued by the Registrar of Societies (ROS).
The letters were issued after the ROS received complaints from party members about the election. - Mkini
