PETALING JAYA: A total of eight localities in Peninsular Malaysia are now under Level 2 heatwave.

According to the latest advisory from MetMalaysia, the whole of Perlis is under Level 2 heatwave, as well as parts of Kedah and Perak.

The areas are Kubang Pasu, Padang Terap, Pokok Sena, Sik, Hulu Perak, Baling and Kota Setar.

Under Level 2 heatwave status, daily maximum temperature can go up to between 37 degrees Celcius and 40 degrees Celcius for three days consecutively.

Earlier on Saturday (March 23), Health director-general Datuk Dr Muhammad Radzi Abu Hassan said all outdoor activities needed ti be suspended at schools located in Level 1 heatwave areas.
