PETALING JAYA: The shooting of a man in Johor Bahru earlier today is an isolated case, says Johor police chief M Kumar.
In a statement, he promised a comprehensive investigation into the murder of the 40-year-old man which took place in front of a restaurant in Taman Setia Indah at noon.
“The public should not panic as the incident is an isolated one with no links to broader safety concerns or threats in Johor.
“The public is advised not to speculate or make comments that could disrupt the investigation process or manipulate facts to cause public unease,” he said in a statement.
Kumar stated that a special team from the state police’s criminal investigation department had been formed to investigate the incident and identify the individuals involved.
He added that preliminary investigations revealed that the victim had four gunshot wounds.
Kosmo reported the man had just finished lunch at noon when a motorcyclist approached him and fired several shots before fleeing the scene.
