PETALING JAYA
A total of 206 investors have filed a fresh lawsuit against MYAirline co-founder Goh Hwan Hua and entities linked to him over an allegedly fraudulent investment scheme involving deposited funds of more than RM60 million.

The suit was filed by law firm Zharif Nizamuddin on behalf of the investors at the Kuala Lumpur High Court yesterday.

The suit, which replaces a previous one filed by Jerald Gomez & Associates in June last year, represented a shift in the legal strategy, lawyer Nizamuddin Hamid told FMT.

The new suit names Goh and 30 others, comprising individuals, companies, a law firm and a shariah consultancy firm.

The defendants include I-Serve Technology and Vacations Sdn Bhd, I-Serve Travels & Tours Sdn Bhd, I-Serve Online Mall Sdn Bhd, Tawafuq Consultancy Sdn Bhd, Bright Moon Venture PLT, MM2217 PLT, and QA Smart Partnership PLT.

The plaintiffs are seeking general, aggravated, exemplary and equitable damages, all to be assessed by the court.

Nizamuddin said many of his clients are still struggling financially after they deposited “hundreds of thousands of ringgit” of their hard-earned money into the scheme from 2018.
