Tanah Merah police chief Haki Hasbullah said the statements were taken from the victim’s grandmother and two aunts, Berita Harian reported.
“However, we have yet to obtain statements from the boy’s parents as they are still emotionally distraught over their loss.
“We will record their statements once they are in a calmer state,” he said.
Yesterday, it was reported that police were holding further investigations into Hud Aryan’s death in Tanah Merah, Kelantan, to determine if negligence was involved.
Kelantan police chief Yusoff Mamat said an autopsy on Hud Aryan, whose body was found near a river at Kampung Kerila, found no injuries or criminal elements.
He said he had ordered the Tanah Merah police to conduct further investigations, adding that some had questioned how the child could reach the river from the family home in a matter of minutes.
Yusoff expressed concern that there may be an element of negligence in the toddler’s death, but said no investigation paper had been opened yet and the case had been classified as sudden death. - FMT
