NATURAL disasters have a way of humbling us despite our ability to create such mighty civilisations. Its destructive force is a reminder of how small humanity is compared to the natural world and its many moods and seasons.
Best reflecting this statement is a recent video on the internet which showed a river of flowing lava.
According to netizen @anthraxxxx who captured the video, this was the result from the eruption of Mount Semeru in Jawa Timur.
This isn’t any ordinary content creation because it will take more than courage, but huge balls of steel to step into the shoes of the video recorder.

If luck is not on his side, the man would likely end up like an exhibit from Mt Vesuvius. As for the netizens from the cyberspace, they get to enjoy the view without risking a single strand of hair being burned.
On another note, Anadolu Ajansi reportedly said that Mount Semeru had erupted six times on Sunday morning, confirmed the facts in the video post.
Located on the border of the Lumajang and Malang regencies, the volcano, which has been in an active phase for several years, is currently at Alert Level III, according to Indonesia’s state news agency, Antara News.
Indonesia’s Centre for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation (PVMBG) has advised the public to avoid all activities in the south-eastern sector along Besuk Kobokan within a 13-kilometre radius of the summit.
The public is also prohibited from carrying out activities within a five-kilometre radius of the crater due to the risk of being struck by ejected rocks.
According to data, the height of the ash-laden cloud plumes varied between 500 metres and 1,200 metres. — Focus Malaysia
